Two dead after collision near Mile 60

first_imgTwo Fort St. John residents are dead following a collision near Mile 60 of the Alaska Highway.At approximately 1:10pm, Sunday, the RCMP were called to a three vehicle collision near Mile 60.Three vehicles were involved in the collision which happened during a period of heavy snowfall and blowing snow in extreme winter driving conditions.- Advertisement -A preliminary investigation indicates a north bound tractor trailer unit rear ended a small sedan, also traveling north bound. The small sedan then spun into the path of a south bound Dodge utility truck. Both occupants of the sedan were killed in the collision. The occupants of the Dodge truck were taken to the Fort St. John Hospital and released with minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer unit was not injured.A 60 year-old male and a 46 year-old male both from Fort St. John were killed in the collision.Next of kin have been notified, however names are not being released at this time.Advertisement The Alaska Highway was closed for approximately 6 hours during the investigation.The investigation into the collision continues.last_img
